The MVP's Chevy should've been a C7 Stingray 'vert, if not a Z06.

Sure, a white Chevrolet Silverado High Country is a nice truck, but still.

But then GM wouldn't get to advertise their new truck. I mean, what is the average Bud swillin' 'Murrican more likely to buy, a Zo6 or a truck?

Seriously. What MVP wants a Silverado. I bet it doesn't even have the 6.2.

Not a $50,000 High Country luxury Silverado.

Let's be real here; every person playing on that field could buy a fleet of C7s and a track to race them all on. So, yeah a sucky MVP prize, but it's mostly about marketing than it is about actually awarding the MVP.

It is about marketing, so I guess it does make sense to make use of the MVP prize in addition to the other Silverado ads.

It doesn't matter the trim level, these people

will now buy Chevy trucks.

An advertisement =/= a spokesperson

And like it or not, the most important player in the most important sports event of the year is going to be one hell of a spokesperson, which is why he gets something most of the viewership can actually buy vs. something they probably can't (especially with insane dealer markup)

GM's given out Corvettes for the past couple of years - the 2012 Centennial Edition C6 was accepted privately (due to a Toyota sponsorship IIRC), and the blackout last year meant that the C7 Stingray award wasn't shown live.

Piling on the marketing for the Silverado makes sense to me, but I guess I just wanted to see GM give out a Corvette and have the MVP accept it without issue.

True.

It's just that GM did give out 'Vettes in the past couple of years, so that's what I was expecting to see this year.

IIRC, unless you got the entry level 1500, most of them are 6.2s or Isuzu V8 diesels.
